Healthy Cravings Holistic Kitchen

We all like to try different places when it come to food, right?  Well, I know I do and I always source out places that I can eat at and think others would enjoy.  Sometimes, people complain that healthy food costs lots of money.  That might be true but over time it will cost more when your dealing with medial issues.  YOU can’t put a price on your health.

Everyday we make decisions about the food we put in our bodies and the businesses we support.  I like healthy and plant based foods and if I can get local organic thats even better.

So, the other day I when the the opening of a new cafe call Healthy Cravings Holistic Kitchen located at 155 Main Street W in Shelburne opened I thought I would go and check it out.

IMG_5172Here’s the scoop.  This cafe is flexitarian.  What is fexitarian you ask?  Well, its someone that is a vegetarian that eats meat or fish occasionally.

So for anyone that loves to eat meat and has friends that don’t then you have a great place were everyone has options.

Not only do they make their own food with high quality ingredients (local when in season) and lots of love, they also make some vegan and gluten-free varieties.  Take a look the options

  • Raw juices
  • Fresh green & fruit smoothies
  • Antibiotic free/organic meat, freshly roasted & sliced for sandwiches
  • Fresh baked bread (organic & gluten-free options)
  • In-house baked desserts (scones, muffins, butter tarts, pies, cookies)
  • Daily quinoa, lentil & green salads

You can get take out or you can eat in.  And just look how gorgeous their eating area is.  The cafe comes complete with wi-fi and table space.  They also have some counter space right at the window which will probably be a great place to enjoy some sunshine in a few months!

Enjoy a hot cup of Joe, espresso, or a nice blend of hot very local tea.

The menu is nice and simple at first glance, but the staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help guide guests through the various sections. Deciding where to begin is the hardest part!   Brenda the owner knows food and she is also a Nutritionalist, so you know your going to be getting good food.

I decided on the Budda Bowl and I LOVED it.  The flavour of the cashew dressing was super cool and it complemented the roasted chickpeas, beats, sweet potato, spinach and spouts.

Smoothies come in different portions and would make suitable meal replacements. The Green Goodness ($8) consists of water, hemp protein powder, spinach, apple and I few other things that I can’t remember…LOL  I forgot to take a photo so you will have to go order your own.

If your looking of breakfast then your in luck.  They open at 9:00am and close at 4:00pm.

Shelburne you now have a healthy place to eat so you better go and support them.  You can connect with them on Facebook
