People always have questions about what amenities are in the area. Buying a home is one thing that can be done anywhere, buying into a community is something total different from town to town, city to city. So when one of my clients asked me if there was a indoor RC Race Track close by, the answer was “Yes and it’s an awesome place in Alliston”.
This winter has taken it’s toll on most people this year so if you, your kids, wife or friends are looking for a new hobby to pass the winter months this might be the ticket.
If you’re not into RC cars, boats, planes, helicopters then you might want to check out Hobby Obsession in the east end of Alliston. You might get hooked after you try on of the cars.
Who is behind Obsession? Well, for starters Joe and Marcy are friends and clients of mine. A few years ago they decided to follow their passion. Oh, ok Joe’s passion for RC everything. They started “Hobby Obsession” in the small town of Alliston and have never looked back. They also have another location in Owen Sound. They sell remote controlled cars, boats, planes, as well as plastic models and accessories.
For local residents the new location of Hobby Obsession will be remember as the old Alliston bowling lane building at 45 Victoria St. East. Their new location has allowed them to expand the the R/C service and repair center as well as open an indoor R/C racetrack which can handle everything from on road touring car style racing to stadium trucks and off road. They’ve had weekly race events with electronic timing and scoring as well as a structured point championship that I think is amazing. Plans are in the works for an outdoor dirt track in the spring so if your live in a subdivision and the neibours are having issues dodging your R/C sports car then your in luck :).
Their inventory is large and they even have ready to run or kit form cars. I have to say one thing for to the parents…..These are not toys either, but rather high quality “hobby grade” performance models. They have the spares to repair crashes as well as upgrade your vehicle can be found on the shelf. Now if you are not sure about buying one of the many cars then rent one for $20 and play around with it for an hour to see if you’re hooked 🙂
I think this is one hobby they you could get truly “Obsessed” about and I’m not kidding! really I’m not…LOL
