Life seems to have gotten a whole lot busier these days as we get closer to the big day. I found that I just haven’t had time for my little blog. The holidays are upon us and I’m busy wrapping up showings, listing, and trying to figure out how I can take a little time to relax with my awesome wife during this busy time.
Thankfully, we had a wonderful Sunday with our family at Drysdale’s Village to once again cut down our own Christmas Tree. We have been going every year since I moving to Dufferin County! This year my daughter and her friend picked out the biggest and widest tree we have every bought. Here are a few (quite a few) photos from our time at the tree farm. Enjoy!
The reason why we have continue to go back year after year is that there is soooo much to do :). and if you still have not gotten a tree, your in luck because they are open this weekend but it’s about 40 minutes from Orangeville. I do wish there was a place like this in Dufferin County. It really is a one stop shop full of fun for the whole family!
So as the holiday season turns to winter magic you can still get your tree up until December 22nd as the Drysdale’s village comes to life. Enjoy all the festivities the season brings at Drysdales during this time of year and since the holiday traditions have been going on since 1945, I think your in good hands.
Some of the activities include there Santa and Mrs. Claus, magician, train rides, face painters, horse-drawn wagon rides –they have a variety of food and warm drinks available, as well as a bonfire, and of course their Evergreen store that has all sorts of Christmas decor and gifts. There is no admission fee for these events or parking but you might want to get there when they open at 10am as there are no line ups.
You can cut your perfect spruce or fir tree from their fabulous 400 acre plantation. Pick up your saw and you are ready to mount tractor drawn wagons to transport you to and from their plantation. When you return your tree will be baled for easy transport, and drilled for our unique one step tree stand (it’s the BEST Tree stand ever). Fresh cut trees are also available for your convenience in their arbour daily along with beautiful handmade fraser fir, white pine and cedar wreaths and garland. They also offer decorated wreaths with a variety of colors and accents.
You can also take a leisurely horse drawn wagon ride with one of their six teams through the countryside, while sounds of sleigh bells and horses hooves on snow fill the air. I highly recommend the wagon with the padded seats 🙂
Kid big and small should check out the red roofed home of Mr. and Mrs. Claus for their yearly review to renew acquaintances and update their wish lists 😉 Spread a little holiday magic by adding to your smile; visit their face painters for seasonal sparkle and shine.
Bring your appetite and enjoy our hearty country fare while you sit back and enjoy sounds of the season with live entertainment on the palladium. Drysdale’s … A Destination for the Seasons and if your getting a little cold sit down next the the fire and roast marshmallows with the kids.
