Update August 2014 – They are not longer in business
I friend of mine has been telling me about an awesome place to eat at in Dundalk. I don’t make it to Dundalk every often. I did get there and am happy I did! I’m very happy to report that this is now one of my favourite places to eat north of Shelburne!
The place is called Sweet Tart Cafe. They sell fresh European Pastries and Tart. They also sever Lunch, Smoothies and even Thai Food from scratch, wholesome salads and sandwiches and Bread at very reasonable prices :).
The Dundalk bakery closed some time ago and Tim Hortons moving in last year at Hwy 10 and main street at the Esso station but what was missing was a true neighbourhood cafe. Since opening earlier this yearI would say it’s a real treat for the area.
Peter and Thai have great plans for Dundalk’s downtown. You will notice that as soon as you walk in. They are VERY kind and FRIENDLY and are both CARING people. Sweet Tarts is a cafe that has a awesome options for lunch such as savory sandwiches and salads, fresh fruit smoothies, Thai food and even greater desserts such as the incredible custard tarts (I now drive out of my way to get them), cakes, croissants, etc). The coffee is really great too. The place has FREE WI-FI, so expect to around others as it’s a very friendly cafe and it’s incredible custard tarts.
Peter and Thai enjoy getting feedback on what people like and dislike. I’ve tried just about everything on the menu, and like it all!
The desserts are terrific, and leave you wanting more. Fruit tarts, and chocolate concoctions are quite the talk of the town :). If you go just tell them David from the 365 blog told you about them 🙂 also, ask Peter for a HOT Custard Tart….You will not be disappointed and the Chicken sandwich is to die for…Yum so good!!!!!!!
Sweet Tart Cafe is located at 30 Main St E, Dundalk, Ontario N0C 1B0 and they can be reached at (I’ll have to find the number LOL)
They are 30 minutes north of Orangeville, 15 minutes from Shelburne.
