Day 353 of 365 – Granny Taught Us How

The other day when I was at Mrs. Mitchell’s I decided to walk across the street to check out a awesome home decor store.

In Dufferin county the Orange Lodge played an important role in the lives of early settlers.

It was a gathering place vital to the fraternity and identity of the members. One of the buildings has became home to GRANNY Taught Us How in 1978 and ever since then it has served Dufferin well.  They have a lovingly restored this historic building in the hamlet of Violet Hill.

So, whether you are shopping for a wedding gift, baby gift or trying to give your home a lift, they’ve got it all! Hundreds of ideas under one roof and I’m not kidding.

What will you expect when you go to Granny Taught Us How.  For one thing you’ll find it’s all about quality and awesome service. They sell very unique and enduring objects for everyday use or simply to admire. When you visit, they will tell you It’s not about trends, it’s about timelessness and tradition…with a bit of fun added to the mix.  While I agree with that message….I also think you need to visit and be the judge 🙂

Some of the things you will find at Granny Taught Us How are, brand new collection of home décor treasures, colonial country-style offerings,  bedding and baby gifts, accessories and art.  Don’t forget the newly christened “Heidi’s Room” is filled with gems that will add a bit of sparkle, a bit of warmth and a whole lot of style to your home.

Come over today and see what’s hiding in “Heidi’s Room” at Granny Taught Us How ~ In Violet Hill, on highway 89 between Alliston and Shelburne.
