Day 266 – 365 – Grand River Chop House

The Grand River Chop House restaurant is nestled in the quaint town of Grand Valley, just 15 minutes west of Orangeville.  It’s the sort of destination one might encounter during a Saturday or Sunday drive.  If your thinking about such a drive bring your hiking boots or book and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the Grand River.  The thing about living in the country is that people are friendly and helpful.  They will look you in the eyes and say hello while walking on the street.

When I stopped into the Grand River Chop house, I was greeted just as I had walking on the sidewalk :).  I love small towns.

One of the best deals they offer is Burger and Pints every Monday night from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. You can get any burger for $6 and a Pint of beer for $4.

Now, if your looking for something different then they have 65cent Wing night every Wednesday night from 4:00 to 9:00pm and these are the big roster size ones. With regards to their steak, they charge by the oz and their cuts will very day to day so you need to ask them.

The owners are no stranger to offering fine quality dining and memorable experiences. They have over 15 years of experience in the industry, Peter Egger celebrates several VQA Awards of Excellence as well as accolades and praise from various food critics.  They also have their meat butchered on location every Wednesday.  Talk about fresh 😉

I hear their food is excellent. If your into the Liver and onions your not alone (I’m not kidding), and the shepherd’s pie is outstanding according to my friend  and while I was there the place really started to get crowded.  I’ll Definitely will go back again and eat next time.

Oh one more thing…..Their beef is locally sourced in partnership with the Oelshlagel family, owner/operators of Harriston Packers. 100% hormone, antibiotic & additive free, dry aged 21 days and cut to our specifications; they proudly serve an ever-evolving choice of cuts.

The Grand River Chophouse is located at 5 Amaranth St Grand Valley and can be reached at (519) 928-5700
