I love winter and every time it rains instead of snowing it’s makes me so sad. One of the reasons my family and I moving north of the city was to enjoy the snow and everything that comes with it! Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to tour the fields and woods on a winter’s day and that is my number #1 thing to do during the winter time.
Island lake is one of those rare places in nature that you can get out on the tails and rent the snowshoes and just go! All of Island Lake’s trials are suitable for snowshoeing, there are lots of flat terrain and gentle inclines that will take you through hardwood bush and meadow areas.
Also, once the lake has frozen over, you can check that out as well. I know lots of people like to enjoy exploring this area, so have fun!
Admission fees or membership apply. Rentals are available for $15.00 for the day and the park is open from 8 to 6 daily
