Day 68 of 365 – Alexandra Park

Did you know that Alexandra Community Park was the first community park built in Orangeville? Yes, it’s true according to historical sign in the park.

This park is very cool. It offers a little something for everyone. You’ll find , gorgeous trees, plenty of open space to play. There’s a covered picnic area and lots of tree sculptures. You can even BBQ here at Hazel Dell Community Park and this is the home to many of the events that happen in the town such as earth day, the Jazz and Blues event in June.

There is also a Veterans Memorial that was built in 2003 and is located in Alexandra Park. The memorial honours those who served and returned from World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. This is a unique memorial in that it honours those who served and returned, whereas most other memorials are for those who were killed in the conflicts.
